Kids, just like us adults, have a "best way" to learn. What factors shape that best way? How do we apply modern concepts to teach a 5 or 6 year old child in one of our programs, in order to guide them to be their best?
How do you get a group of energetic, unruly, fun-loving, ADHD, (fill-in-the-blank) 5 and 6 year old children to become laser-focused?
Tell them to start when they hear the word "GO!"...
... and then have some fun!
"My kid's lazy."
You are correct in recognizing that 5 and 6 year old children can and should show a sense of wanting to accomplish things, whether chores, learning or anything worthwhile.
But when they don't, parental panic can hit. After reminding - then threatening - and still things aren't done or rules aren't followed, it's time to discover positive strategies for nurturing intrinsic motivation in your child.
