Our Personal Journey: Training Outside Of Class

Our Personal Journey.  We spend our time living it, but how do we "find" it?  How is the best way to follow it?

Well, it's in the practice.  Find joy in the practice; everything else pretty much takes care of itself.  (I'm still trying to teach this to my own kids.)

 

To that end, Life Martial Arts Center requires students starting at 4th Gup (Brown Belt) to spend time practicing away from class.  Nothing crazy.  A minimum of about 10 to 15 minutes, 2 times per week outside of class.  The student gets to design these workouts, gets to do what they want to do.  It's pretty cool.

Will they "fail" and miss some days?  If they're like me, then yes they will.  But we pick ourselves up and push on.  Since we've begun this last week an interesting thing has happened.  Just about all the other students have joined in to support those who are required to do this.  We've each designed our own workouts, and in classes we'll check in with the others to see how theirs is going.
